Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOBS: Our client is a very successful privately owned multi-franchisae group based across Yorkshire and the North of England. This position will be based at their branch in Wakefield.

An opportunity has become available to join the group as a Service Advisor. The position is full time and permanent. Previous experience in the role is essential.

Main tasks will include:

  • Ensure customer awareness of all products and services
  • Booking customers in utilising the service diary system
  • Advising customers of estimated costs and repair/service times
  • Communicate effectively with customers over the telephone and face to face
  • Complete all documentation accurately and in full
  • Raise invoices and receive payments
