General Manager / Production Manager

With the overall responsibility for car operations and the facility you will be an excellent communicator, posses the strengths to build and work to robust processes and always deliver on objectives and targets whilst achieving the highest level of customer satisfaction and vehicle quality at all times.
This is a full time permanent role based on 40 hours per week with some weekend working. You will receive 30 days holiday per year including statutory bank holidays, have the option to join the pension scheme available at the time (employee contributions only) and have a Death in Service benefit of twice your annual salary.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities
- Leadership and direction of the team to achieve the overall objectives including production volumes
- Recruitment, development and succession planning
- Performance management, coaching and continuous personal development
- Management, development and control of processes and procedures
- Reporting in line with the business requirements
- Communicating effectively with all staff
- Responsible for Health and Safety
- Working within the guidelines of the budget
- Accurate forecasting of capacity throughput, volume and expenditure
- Fully responsible for vehicle quality and customer satisfaction
Competencies & Experience Required
Previous experience as a senior manager within a high volume manufacturing, engineering or automotive background is essential. You will have had successful experience with improving production efficiency, change management, continuous improvement and lean processes. Experience and knowledge of 6 sigma would be a distinct advantage. A full UK driving licence is required.
