Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

Our client is part of a large retail group in the motor industry that is renowned for delivering customer satisfaction with a wide variety of franchises. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this company as a Fleet Sales Executive (Car Sales) with a volume franchise based in Chester.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a business-user market and fleet sales experience within the motor trade, preferably within a volume franchise.

This is a full time, permanent role, working Monday to Friday on a 40 hour week. A current valid driving licence is essential for this role.

Purpose of the role:

The primary purpose of the Fleet Sales Executive is to sell the maximum number of vehicles possible whilst maintaining focus on delivering an excellent customer experience to current & prospective customers. This will require the maintenance of customer profiles detailing business structure, key contacts, agreed terms, fleet model mix, change cycles & all other relevant information.                                                                       

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • To contact potential customers using cold canvassing, mail shots, telephone & other prospecting procedures
  • Regular contact with existing customers to strengthen good customer relations
  • To ensure the customer is fully aware of all finance & general insurance options available
  • Systematically & professionally follow up all potential customers & report progress as directed by the Fleet Sales Leader
  • Maintain accurate records of prospects contacted & all relevant information
  • Present & demonstrate the product professionally using effective selling techniques
  • Appraise potential part exchange vehicles thoroughly
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

Base salary of £15,000 with an OTE of £30,000 per annum plus a company vehicle
