Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

Our client is part of a large retail group in the motor industry that is renowned for delivering customer satisfaction with a wide variety of franchises. An exciting opportunity has arisen to join this company as a Rapid Fit Supervisor with a volume franchise based in Chester.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in vehicle maintenance & repair within the motor trade, preferably within a volume franchise.

This is a full time, permanent role, 40 hour week Monday-Friday, with possible weekend working required at times. A current valid driving licence is essential for this role.
 

 

Purpose of the role:                                                          

This role is responsible for ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction in the servicing, exhaust, brakes & tyre replacement of vehicles of all types. This will involve performing duties in a safe & economical manner utilising such knowledge & skill as may be required to test vehicles & diagnose faults.

Key tasks and responsibilities include:

  • To achieve agreed individual sales objectives for designated periods
  • To attain specified job times
  • To identify & promote and additional replacement parts/servicing requirements noticed while working on vehicles
  • To note & report all components, materials & consumables used per job
  • To ensure vehicles are thoroughly examined & to report to customers on general condition of vehicles with emphasis on safety
  • To ensure that all work is carried out to MOT and/or manufacturers’ safety standards
  • To ensure that all parts & consumables usage is recorded accurately
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service at all times

Base salary of £16,500 with an OTE of £19,500 per annum
