Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

Motor Trade Jobs: Our client is a well established family business that has been based in Scarborough and North Yorkshire for over 70 years. An opportunity has arisen to join the company as a Service Manager at their superb facility within the town.

This is a full time permanent role with a fully expensed company car. You will be fully responsible for service department reporting to the Dealership Director for the efficient running of the workshop, customer satisfaction, marketing and achievement of budgets and objectives. This is a hands on role in a volume franchise where you will have up to 10 reports including a fast fit department.

The ideal person will already have a proven track record of service management or a workshop controller / foreman looking to take their career to the next stage would be considered. You must have at least 7 years motor industry experience and have qualified as a technician with NVQ level 3 in Vehicle Repair and Maintenance or an equivalent.
