Our client is part of an International Corporation with its Head Office based in the USA which has recently acquired an Engineering Facility in Richmond, North Yorkshire, England. They now require a HR Manager as part of their future strategy. This is a new role within this business unit with over 200 employees and Trade Union membership which offers a very exciting opportunity for the right candidate.
You will be based at their location in Catterick Bridge, Richmond, North Yorkshire. The location is very accessible being only one mile off the main A1 making access within 45 minutes from areas such as Stockton on Tees, Middlesbrough, Teesside, Darlington, Durham, Washington, Gateshead, Harrogate and the North of Leeds and York.
The position of HR Manager is full time and will become permanent but may start with a temporary contract or probation period. Normal working hours are Monday to Friday 9.00 am to 5.30 pm
This position reports directly to the Business Unit Managing Director with a dotted line to the Group HR Director.
Position Purpose and Scope:
Leading the Human Resource function to develop and sustain a competitive advantage through implementing the business plan and vision, talent acquisition and retention, managing change, employee relations, training and development and internal communications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the strategy deployment process
- Develop a comprehensive Human Resource plan
- Develop employment and staffing methodology
- Develop ways to recruit creating a view of being an employer of choice
- Document the requirements of key positions
- Collect and perform trend analysis on turnover and other Human Resource metrics
- Audit the compensation and benefits plan to ensure desired competitive position
- Administer the company performance management system
- Establish and maintain compliance with employment legislation
- Ensure the work environment allows for high performance
You will have the ability to work within a high velocity, autonomous and demanding business culture with unequivocal commitment to the highest standards of personal and business ethics and conduct.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 6 years progressively broadening Human Resource experience and at least 3 years of this experience leading Human Resources at the corporate, business unit or multi facility level. You will also have a degree in HR or a business related field and or hold a current CIPD membership. Previous experience of working with Trade Unions, manufacturing, engineering and distribution would be a distinct advantage as would knowledge of "Lean Operating" and "Six Sigma".
