Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Our client is the UK's leading provider of new quality small business units specifically catering for the SME market. They offer an innovative, hassle free property service providing small offices, workshops and fully serviced offices to let on flexible terms. They also provide virtual offices, hot desks, meeting and training rooms and self storage accommodation.

The position of Property Manager / Centre Manager is a full time temporary position (Initial 8 month contract term) working Monday to Friday 8.30 am to 5.30 pm managing centres in West Bromwich and Oldbury.

Key Task & Responsibilities:

  • Letting of units on standard and fully inclusive rent
  • Optimise Centre occupancy rates
  • Upselling Telecoms and Broadband packages
  • Networking and building relationships with local businesses and public sector organisations
  • Negotiate terms of agreement and closing sales
  • Gathering market and customer information
  • Visiting potential customers and prospecting for new business
  • Participating in exhibitions and promotional events

You must have previous experience in a similar role and have your own vehicle. Business mileage will be reimbursed at the rate of 40p per mile. The OTE is made up of a £12,000 basic salary and 5% of any lettings (Annualised). This position has great potential to exceed the OTE as there is no CAP on earnings.
