Our client is the UK distributor and customer support centre for one of the worlds leading portable ventilator technologies providing customer respiratory products and service of the highest level through the Military of Defence and the NHS. Established in 2003 the company continues to look for growth and expansion within it's current markets which has created this unique opportunity to join them as a Technical Support Assistant at their support centre in Barnard Castle, Darlington.
The position is permanent, based on 30 hours per week alternating weekly between mornings from 0730 - 1330 and afternoons from 1230 - 1830. Additional hours will be required to cover for holidays etc. Some degree of flexibility may be acceptable with the hours.
The main purpose of the role is to provide administration and customer support to the technical field team and assistance to customers providing an exceptional service at all times.
Key Tasks:
- Answering the switchboard and directing calls efficiently
- Receipt and handling of customer enquiries
- Maintaining customer records and entries to customer filing system accurately
- Maintain direct communication with the team to ensure customer continuity of care
- Processing sales orders received including packing, shipping and invoicing within agreed timescales
- Receipt and handling of sales warehouse stock efficiently and accurately
- Arranging shipping to international suppliers and customers within agreed timescales
- Receipt and handling of service parts stock and main unit control
- Processing and administration of technical service and maintenance reports
- Processing of ad-hoc customer service requests to Service Engineers
- Scheduling service contract work and technical appointments for the service engineering team
- Updating customer contract database and monitoring of customer service contract status
- Ensure Sales and Service team have all relevant paperwork to enable them to carry out their tasks efficiently
- Miscellaneous administrative sales & marketing support tasks
Full training in company policies and procedures will be given during the first 6 weeks of employment.
The ideal candidate will have:
- An excellent telephone manner and previous experience of handling customers
- Experience in administration duties with exceptional attention to detail
- Average or above experience and with, e-mail, excel and working with a PC
- Excellent ability to maintain accurate data records
- The ability to be able to work alone as well as part of a team
- The ability to work under pressure from distressed customers and remain calm
