Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOB: Our client is part of a National Automotive Group with many executive brands. The group offers career advancement opportunities to individuals who can prove themselves and deliver results and high customer satisfaction.

The vacancy is Full Time, Permanent, and involves some weekend working. You will be based in the Bradford area of West Yorkshire.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Meeting customers and dealing with inbound sales enquiries
  • Prospecting existing customers with advantageous offers
  • Demonstrating the products with its features and benefits
  • Achieving sales targets
  • Delivering excellent customer service at all times

Essential & Desirable Requirements:

Previous experience in a car sales role is a distinct advantage but not essential, but experience in a previous retail sales role is. A driving licence is also essential for this role.
