Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOB: Our client is a small family owned Motor Group established in the early 1980's specialising in one volume franchise in Lincolnshire with three locations. They are a well respected dealer with their customers, some of whom are still with them today from when the business first started. They are also the largest used car dealer within this quality brand. To further enhance the business and its ongoing initiatives an opportunity has arisen for an experienced Parts Consultant.

This is a full time permanent role with some Saturday mornings.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • To assist all dealership staff with parts identifcation and replacement
  • To complete all documentation accurately
  • To maintain all manufacturers parts lists and keep up to date
  • Place stock in locations following delivery
  • Issuing and invoicing of parts

Previous motor trade experience in a similar role is essential, with ideally a minimum of 12 months.
