Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly. Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOB: Our client is part of a National Automotive Group with many executive brands. The group offers career advancement opportunities to individuals who can prove themselves and deliver results and high customer satisfaction.

The vacancy is Full Time and Permanent working Monday to Friday with some Saturdays.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

To inspect and service vehicles to the manufacturers specifications.
To advise and report faults
To interpret information from customers for diagnosing faults accurately.
To record accurately all details on the relevant job cards
To maintain and update your individual experience, skills and knowledge through training
To carry out all work effectivley and within the manufacturers repair times
To maintain the highest of customer satisfaction

Essential & Desirable Requirements:

NVQ Level 3 or a similar equivalent plus a minimum 3 years experience from final year of apprenticeship. Experience with an executive brand would be a distinct advantage but not essential.
