Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOBS: Our client is part of a large group in the Motor Industry.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a position based at their prestige site in West Yorkshire.

Previous experience in the Service Advisor role within the motor trade is essential as this position has an immediate start date.

Main tasks will include:

  • Booking vehicles in for service and repair using the computerised diary system
  • Advising customers of estimated costs and repair timescale
  • Completion of all documentation in a timely and accurate manner
  • Raise invoices and receive payments
  • Communicate effectively with customers, both face to face and by telephone
