Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOBS: Our client is part of a national group with many manufacturers in the Retail Motor Industry. An opportunity has arisen for a Business Manager / Sales Controller to join the team in the Bradford area. This is an exciting opportunity for the right individual to prove themselves as a dynamic team leader with good promotional prospects.                

This is a full time permanent role with some weekend working.

The key tasks will be:

  • To maximise the profitable sale of finance and insurance products
  • To assist in closing vehicle sales by providing finance and insurance products as an aid to selling
  • To ensure all FSA regulations are monitored and adhered to
  • Assist in coaching and developing the team
  • Ensure sales and profit targets are met by working closely with sales executives
  • Use added value techniques and sales process to secure greater margins

The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years motor trade or finance experience in a similar role.
