Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Description:

MOTOR TRADE JOBS: An exciting opportunity has arisen due to expansion of the Business Sales Department within our clients Motor Group. As part of a family business for over 10 years with continuous expansion and a high focus on customer care they require a Business to Business Sales Executive to create new accounts and build on current relationships utilising the manufacturers programmes to sell vehicles (car and commercial) into local business.

Sales experience is essential, motor trade experience would be a distinct advantage as the scale of the prospective customers in territory is exceptionally high.

The ideal person will have a proven track record of prospecting to gain appointments and increasing volumes through new customers and accounts.
