Birmingham City Council could be forced to pay out up to £600m in equal pay case.

Thousands of female Birmingham City Council staff could receive a share of up to £600m in compensation after winning an equal pay employment tribunal case.

Up to 5,000 female workers, including cleaners, care assistants & cooks, brought the case against the council after they were not paid bonuses that were offered to male refuse collectors, allowing the men to earn more than £50,000 a year.

The tribunal found these bonuses were discriminatory because it was rewarding male workers for doing their jobs properly.  Read more

Winning Teams - Performance Management Training

A one day performance management training course with one very clear objective, how to get the best results from your people. The course agenda covers job descriptions, setting clear objectives, communication, motivating staff, building training needs analysis (TNA), dealing with the difficult team member and the basis of a staff appraisal system. The course is aimed at new management or supervisors and staff looking for promotion where they would be responsible for achieving results through a team of people. 

Disciplinary & Grievance Training

A one day workshop for managers and supervisors that will be dealing with disciplinary and grievance processes. The day is based on real, sometimes live cases for the delegates to work on covering investigation, disciplinary hearings, disciplinary and grievance process, decision making and employment tribunals. The objective is for them to handle, observe cases and discuss the outcomes to build confidence with situations and procedures.

A course day fees are £950 plus expenses plus VAT which for 12 people this can be as little as £79 each plus VAT. The training can be carried out in your own premises or we can arrange a venue. As the courses involve role play and participation the minimum numbers are 6 and the maximum 12. All delegates are tested at the end and receive a certificate in recognition of the days achievements.

We are listed on the North East England Service Provider Register and with Business Link. Funding may be available to support some services.
