The CRB have changed the criteria by which each candidates identity is established

The CRB have changed the criteria by which each candidates identity is established and from 1 September 2012, all identity checks should be conducted using the new guidance.

The latest version of the guidance can be downloaded from the Home Office website at:

http://www.homeoffice.gov.uk/agencies-public-bodies/crb/crb-press-releases/id-changes-docs/id-changes-guidance?view=Binary

Please note there are now 3 different routes which by which an employer can establish the true identity of a candidate but Routes 1 & 2 must be fully exhausted before Route 3 is used.

Please also note that if Route 2 is required there will be an additional cost for using the external ID validation system but please do not hesitate to call for further guidance when relevant to do so.
