Safety Training
The law states you must provide information, instruction, training and supervision as is necessary to ensure, so far as is reasonably practicable, the Health and Safety at work of your employees, (Health and Safety at Work etc Act 1974 section 2C). Situations are also identified by "The Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999" for the Health and Safety training of particular importance which includes, new employees, exposure to to new and increased risks and skills that require updating.
Training methods and formats can include;
- Information Sheets
- Q & A Fact Sheets
- Simple instructional training from supervisory staff
- "On the Job" coaching and training
- Computer based training
- Awareness DVD's
- Distance learning
- Classroom training
What training does your organisation require?
- Identify the gaps between current knowledge and required knowledge.
- Review of recent Risk Assessments
- Review your past accidents, injuries, ill health, incidents and attendance records
- Consult with your employees to gain their views
- Include Directors, Managers and Supervisors
- Decide on areas of responsibility
At Connect our Health and Safety Advisors will, from the information gained, complete a thorough gap analysis and identify any training priorities you may have which would include those required by law and those that could cause serious harm or result in large numbers of accidents. At this point we would also identify those training areas of particular importance, i.e. for new employees, people changing jobs or people with additional responsibilities.
Our Health and Safety Advisors will also identify the most appropriate training methods based on costs, expertise and delivery times.
