Case Studies
We can supply many references and testimonials of our recent work in our specialised fields of Health and Safety Management, Human Resource Management and Recruitment. Below are the brief details of some assignments we have recently been involved with.
Health & Safety (Staff Welfare)
We received an enquiry from the Managing Director of a specialised medical equipment distributor for the UK dealing direct with the NHS (National Health Service) and MOD (Military of Defence). As part of a planned business restructure they required both HR Management support and Health & Safety Management support on site. Following an initial 4 day review of existing H & S policies, recent risk assessments and their latest COSHH data and policy a GAP analysis was formed.
- All policies were revised and updated
- Systems and procedures were re-introduced
- Risk assessments were carried out where it was felt necessary
- The introduction of monthly Health & Safety meetings lasting 1 hour assisted the communication process
- A new and revised Health and Safety Manual was produced
- A Fire Risak Assessment was completed
- A First Aid Requirements Assessment was completed
- A COSHH policy statement was written and all hazardous substances were identified, monitored and controlled in line with current legislation.
We still support this business with its Health and Safety and Human Resource Management by working with them as a partner on a one day a week basis on site.
Human Resource Management
The assignment was to carry out a full independent internal investigation into allegations made by way of a grievance for racial discrimination and a breakdown of trust from an employee. This was a very sensitive investigation and required a carefull and well thought out approach to gain the information and facts appropriate to the case in order to make an educated decision.
- Initially we worked on site undercover of working on a business project whilst listening and watching the behavior of the work force and management
- The employee who raised the grievance was interviewed and witness names were given
- Staff were selectivley interviewed to gain information and statements
- Managers were interviewed with statements taken
- Contractors were interviewed with statements taken
Following a full investigation the grievance was not found to be true and accurate which then led to the allegations being dropped and no further action being taken. The employee was dismissed whilst in probation.
Recruitment Assignments
The assignment was to find four experienced General Managers from within the UK Motor Industry that had a proven track record of delivering results through coaching and developing teams and that had worked closely with specific Automotive manufacturers. These were to be part of a senior management team in the Middle East.
- We designed and developed a marketing plan targeting experienced Motor Trade management
- We developed a recruitment process to include both telephone and face to face interviews
- All candidates that passed the basic CV screening process completed application forms
- Following successful interviews the candidates were then taken through a series of aptitude test and a Personality Profile Analysis.
- A short list of 9 candidates was produced from just over 50 applicants.
Six candidates were flown out to the Middle East for final selection where 4 were finally chosen and successfully filled the vacancies.
